The Art

My sculptures that utilize a familiar form are meant to capture the viewer’s attention and draw them closer. Once there, they are surprised to find recognizable smaller components meticulously placed to make up the whole. My abstract pieces typically begin with no intended theme or meaning by combining uniquely shaped reclaimed metal, wood, or glass materials. The abstractions evolve during the process into a personal expression that can take on many forms or meanings.

The Artist

As a youth during K-12, I took as many art and industrial art courses as allowed to fuel my creative spark, and sold my first sculptures and painted rocks at 12 years old.

As an adult, I had a range of careers supported by two technical diplomas and a B.S. and M.S. in Technical Education. Some of my careers include metal fabricator, welder, auto technician, IT professional, Instructor, and Senior Lecturer.

Now armed with a lifetime of skills, experiences, and imagination, I’m able to enjoy creating art full time. Whether building a full scale horse, small toad, or abstract sculpture, my preferred medium is reclaimed materials and occasionally embedding stained glass to complement the piece.
