Group Exhibition Prospectus Empty Walls Art
Title: Leave the Wall Behind

Description of art:
This exhibition will feature three-dimensional wall art as well as free-standing sculptural art. All pieces will reflect a contemporary style. Execution will illustrate traditional to the unexpected use of materials. To broaden interest in this exhibition several artists are available for artist talks, demonstrations, or technique workshops.

Participating artists:
This group consists of seven artists: Christy Skuban, Scott Von Holzen, Aubrey Hogan, Karen Scarseth, Don Gaber, Raymond Kaselau, and Jeff Nelson. The number of artists and the number of pieces to fill this exhibition is a decision to be made by the preferences (if any) of the gallery and the artists in this exhibition. This group will have more than twenty pieces of art to place in this exhibition, which will include free-standing sculptures and three-dimensional wall pieces. Pricing of individual pieces will be handled between the gallery and the artist(s) prior to hanging an exhibit.

Uniqueness to the viewer:
In this exhibition, we invite the viewer to ‘leave the wall behind’. When utilizing form, color, structure, sound, and shadow the viewer will experience new and interesting aspects where wall art extends to occupy space. The sculpture will transform positive as well as negative spaces with a unique emphasis on materials and structure. As the viewer’s eye moves across a piece of art new visuals will be seen…shadows hold images….Sound will compliment form… materials demonstrate new use.

Methods and techniques:
Light and shadow are key elements in sculpture. Our unique approach is to use traditional tools of light and shadow, then introduce color and sound in multi-dimensional art. Methods for building armatures use traditional materials in unique ways. Constructed, reused, and recycled materials find a home in many pieces. From silicon boards to horseshoes, clay to feathers, wood to spoons the materials and techniques used provide the viewer an invitation to continue the search for the unexpected found in our art. Installation needs or requirements: All wall art will be gallery ready with wire support hanging installed. Sculpture pieces will/can be installed on the floor or may need a pedestal. The choices of type of sculpture will be made by the restrictions or advantages of the gallery. All pieces are independent of each other. There is no need for extended/contiguous large spaces to unite installations. Our group will abide by any installation requirements set by the gallery.

Summary:
Empty Walls Artis a group of seven dedicated and determined artists. Our goal, our need, and our dream are to expand our understanding and appreciation of dimensional art in a larger more diverse market.
